Consultation

Complimentary phone consultations are designed to determine if you or your child would benefit from a comprehensive evaluation.

During the consultation we have the opportunity to learn more about you and answer any questions you may have. We ask that all prospective clients have a current hearing screening prior to beginning the assessment process.

Evaluations

A speech-language evaluation and/or OT evaluation will be conducted to determine the diagnosis and need, type, and frequency of therapy.

A typical evaluation consists of history review, informal observations, questionnaires, and formal standardized testing. Following the evaluation, we review our findings, along with a plan of care for future visits if additional treatment is recommended. We will present and discuss the results of the evaluation with you during your first treatment visit and answer any questions you may have.

Treatment

Specific skills will be identified and targeted for therapy based on testing, readiness, and the family’s goals.

Sessions are one on one with a 45-minute and 60-minute option. Most therapy recommendations are once to twice per week depending on the individual’s unique needs. At the conclusion of each session, your child’s therapist will share with you what was focused on and will provide you with suggestions and materials for at home practice. We welcome family members to be a part of the therapeutic process if you so desire.

Bilingual Therapy

We offer bilingual speech therapy in the following languages: Spanish and French.

Our therapists provide your child with the tools needed to develop speech-language and/or daily living skills needed to successfully thrive as individuals. Services can be provided in-home, preschool, daycare, private school, or at a mutually convenient location. Please contact us for more information regarding bilingual therapy options.

Educational Services

We have extensive experience and knowledge of school based speech and special education services.

Upon request we can provide IEE’s (independent education evaluations) to students in need of additional assessments. An Independent Educational Evaluation is an evaluation by a qualified speech-language pathologist who is not employed by your school district. You can request this evaluation if you would like an in-depth description of your child’s strengths and weaknesses in the area of communication. The IEE involves: school records review, classroom observation, interview with parents and classroom teacher, formal and informal evaluation.
