Therapy should fit into your life—not the other way around.
We offer speech therapy in the environments where it matters most: at home, in school, or virtually. This allows us to support real-world communication in everyday moments.
Each plan is personalized based on your goals, schedule, and needs—so progress feels natural, consistent, and meaningful.
We combine personalized care with evidence-based practice to help every client build meaningful, lasting communication skills.
Our clinicians are licensed in the state of California and certified by nationally recognized organizations, including the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
We bring experience across a wide range of communication challenges, using detailed evaluations to build therapy plans tailored to each client’s needs, goals, and environment.

Every communication journey is different. We provide thoughtful support tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and everyday life.
Articulation disorders occur when a child has difficulty pronouncing certain sounds clearly, such as saying “wabbit” instead of “rabbit.” These speech sound errors can impact confidence, classroom participation, and overall communication.
Phonological disorders involve patterns of sound errors, such as consistently leaving off ending sounds or simplifying word structures. These patterns can make speech difficult for others to understand.
Fluency disorders, including stuttering, affect the smooth flow of speech and may include repetitions, prolongations, or blocks. These challenges can impact self-esteem and classroom participation.
Resonance and voice disorders impact the quality, pitch, or volume of a person’s voice, sometimes making speech sound nasal, hoarse, or strained. These challenges can stem from structural, medical, or functional causes.
Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder caused by muscle weakness or neurological conditions that affect speech clarity, volume, and control. Speech may sound slurred or slow
Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor planning disorder where the brain has difficulty coordinating the movements needed for speech. Children with apraxia often know what they want to say but struggle to produce the sounds accurately.
Language disorders affect a child’s ability to understand (receptive language) or use (expressive language) words and sentences effectively. This may show up as trouble following directions, limited vocabulary, or difficulty forming complete thoughts.
Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) affects how the brain interprets sounds, even when hearing is normal. Children with APD may struggle to follow verbal instructions, especially in noisy classroom settings.
Aphasia is a language disorder typically caused by stroke or brain injury that affects a person’s ability to speak, understand, read, or write. It does not impact intelligence, but it can significantly affect daily communication.
Oral-motor difficulties involve weakness or coordination challenges in the lips, tongue, and jaw that affect speech clarity and sometimes feeding. Children may struggle with certain sounds, chewing, or overall mouth control.
Dysphagia refers to difficulty swallowing, which can affect infants, children, and adults. Symptoms may include coughing during meals, choking, or prolonged feeding times.
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may experience challenges with communication, language development, and social interaction. Speech therapy can support verbal communication, nonverbal skills, and functional language use.
Social (pragmatic) communication disorders affect how individuals use language in social situations, such as taking turns in conversation or understanding social cues. These challenges are common in both children and adolescents.
Early intervention speech therapy supports infants and toddlers who show signs of delayed speech or language development. The earlier therapy begins, the stronger the foundation for communication and academic success.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) includes tools such as speech-generating devices, communication boards, and apps that support individuals who have limited verbal speech. AAC empowers children and adults to express their needs, thoughts, and emotions effectively.
Accent reduction therapy helps individuals refine pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation patterns to improve clarity and confidence in professional and social settings. This service is ideal for adults seeking clearer communication in the workplace.

What families are experiencing

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Kyra at Sound It Out Speech for matching our children with Mariah. Their progress has been remarkable and far beyond what we experienced with previous therapists. Mariah is supportive, compassionate, deeply committed to our children's success, and makes learning fun. We trust her completely and are incredibly grateful for the entire experience.

Our family is so blessed to have found Sound It Out Speech Therapy. After months with another therapist and little progress, our daughter began making marked improvements and quickly looked forward to every session. Kyra matched us with Paige, who is flexible, reliable, patient, and incredibly engaging. She knows exactly how to motivate my daughter while helping her build healthy speaking habits and continue making progress. We couldn't be happier with our experience and are so grateful for the support we've received.

Kyra and her team are excellent. They go above and beyond to provide information, resources, referrals, and support outside of therapy sessions. I really appreciate the additional tools they share with families. This is the place to be for in-home therapy.

Can't say enough good things about Sound It Out. Fantastic, personable therapists with incredible expertise. My experience with this company has been extremely positive and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for speech services.

Our 4-year-old son has been working with Miss Casey for several months and we have been extremely impressed by the whole experience. She tailors each lesson to his needs, keeps sessions fun and engaging, and has helped improve his speech dramatically. Friends, family, and teachers have all noticed the difference. His confidence has increased, and we couldn't be happier with our experience.

We started my son in speech therapy at 17 months when he had no words and minimal gestures. We worked with Athena and can't sing her praises enough. My son is now considered ahead in speech development. He was always excited to see Athena each week, and we are so grateful we found Sound It Out. I would recommend them to anyone needing speech therapy.

We've had such a great experience with Sound It Out Speech Therapy! Kyra was very communicative at the beginning and was able to accommodate our needs quickly. She assigned us to an amazing speech therapist, Olivia, who is a perfect fit for my daughter. Olivia is kind and patient and gives practical techniques and tools to practice throughout the week. It has been an overall encouraging and positive experience.

Kyra and the Sound It Out team are incredible. After a phone consultation, an evaluation was scheduled the following week and therapy began immediately after. It's so nice having therapy at home, and the team was incredibly accommodating. My son loves his sessions with Eryn, and we've already seen great improvements. We're overall very happy with Sound It Out.

When I took my son to the pediatrician for his 3-year check-up, I was told he needed speech therapy. After going through so many therapists and evaluations, I found Sound It Out. Kyra immediately calmed my nerves and connected us with amazing therapists. My son couldn't say his name or tell us what he wanted, and now his vocabulary has exploded. I can't say enough good things about them. Truly a blessing for our family.

We love Sound It Out! Before finding them, our other speech therapy sessions just felt like play dates. My child would become bored and disengaged. This is not the case with Sound It Out. My son's therapist is Nicci, and she brings different techniques that have helped him immensely. Since beginning with her, his speech has improved dramatically. Not only are they effective, but they come to you. We were truly blessed to have found Sound It Out and to work with Nicci.

The whole team at Sound It Out Speech Therapy is amazing! Kyra is so easy to work with and fit us with a therapist that my daughter loves! Kristin Anderson is the BEST! She takes the time needed to make sure my daughter succeeds and feels comfortable. Kristin goes above and beyond to make sure there is progress each week. My daughter doesn't feel like speech is 'work' and always looks forward to her sessions.

My 19-month-old son was referred for speech therapy by our pediatrician. After researching a few companies and speaking with other parents, I decided to try Sound It Out after hearing a lot of good things about them. Kyra was great about getting the assessment done quickly and working with our insurance. Since the initial assessment we have worked with both Kyra and Kelsey. Both have been engaging, warm, and provide us with tips to help increase language use in between sessions. Very happy to have found Sound It Out Speech Therapy!

We were nervous initially about starting speech therapy via Zoom, but after speaking to Kyra we were willing to give it a try. My son immediately connected with Amanda, whose lessons are fun, engaging, and educational. She knows exactly how to keep young children focused and learning. We feel incredibly lucky to have found such a great therapist.

We are very happy with Sound It Out Speech Therapy for our 2-year old. Ever since he started with his coach Lorre, our son has made significant progress. Most of all he has become so much more confident at attempting new sounds and words. We definitely recommend Sound It Out Speech Therapy to anyone that may need additional support with their language abilities.
