Kacky Brown

Kacky Brown holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and a California State license as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist. Kacky earned her Bachelor’s in Communication Sciences and Disorders and Public Health from Northwestern University, where she completed a thesis researching bilingual language acquisition. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Speech and Language Pathology from the University of Washington. During graduate school, Kacky continued to conduct research with an emphasis in pediatric and bilingual populations.

Kacky has worked in a variety of pediatric settings in both California and Washington, including Seattle Public Schools, University of Washington Speech and Hearing Clinic, and the Experimental Education Unit. Currently, Kacky works with preschool and school-age children in Long Beach Unified School District. She assesses and provides therapy in the areas of articulation, phonology, receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language, and fluency. Further, she seeks to promote self-regulation and social-emotional awareness during therapy sessions. Kacky is passionate about collaborating with caregivers and other service providers to create
and carryout successful treatment plans.

During her free time, Kacky loves going to beach, cooking, hiking, and running with her dog, Camden.
