Jennifer is a speech language pathologist who holds an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification of clinical competence (CCC-SLP) and a California state license in speech-language pathology (SLPAB). She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in communicative disorders and speech-language pathology, respectively, from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).
Jennifer has spent the past six years working with children in the home and school settings. She has worked with all age groups from early intervention through high school. Jennifer has experience in the diagnosis and treatment of children with language-based learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and fluency disorders. She has worked with children who utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems including both no-tech and high-tech devices. Jennifer is trained in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, has certifications in the Tongue Tips and Tiny Tongue Tips programs by Simon Says (a program to eliminate Tongue Thrust), Thumbs Up program by Simon Says (a pacifier and finger/thumb sucking elimination program) and is a Prompt Trained SLP.
Jennifer is passionate about working with children and believes collaboration with families and other professionals is essential for each child to reach their greatest potential.
